Bucks play seven home games this month

THE MILWAUKEE BUCKS, after making it to the National Basketball Association playoffs last year under coach Terry Porter, are hoping to repeat this season. Seven home games are on tap for February. All games are at the Bradley Center, 1001 N. Fourth St. For ticket information, visit www.Bucks.com or stop by the Bradley Center Ticket Office.

Feb. 1 vs. Minnesota Timberwolves, 7 p.m.
Feb. 4 vs. L.A. Clippers, 7:30 p.m.
Feb. 8 vs. Boston Celtics, 7 p.m.
Feb. 12 vs. Atlanta Hawks, 7:30 p.m.
Feb. 23 vs. New Jersey Nets, 7 p.m.
Feb. 25 vs. Toronto Raptors, 7:30 p.m.
Feb. 27 vs. Seattle Supersonics, 2 p.m.

SPEED SKATING

THE PETTIT NATIONAL Ice Center, an official Olympic training center at 500 S. 84th St., hosts the U.S. National Short Track Speed Skating championship Feb. 24-27.

The country’s best short-track skaters, including Apolo Anton Ohno, Rusty Smith and the rest of the US team, will battle to determine national champions. Sessions are scheduled for 8 a.m-6 p.m. Thursday Feb. 24, with Olympic skaters from noon-6 p.m.; 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, with Olympians scheduled at a Friday evening session from 7-9 p.m.; noon-5 p.m. Saturday, with Olympic skaters from 7-9 p.m., and the finals from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday, with Olympic skaters competing from noon-6 p.m.

PROFESSIONAL HOCKEY

THE MILWAUKEE ADMIRALS, champions of the American Hockey League last season, play in the Bradley Center, 1001 N. Fourth St. For tickets, visit the Bradley Center Box office or the Admirals Office in the Bradley Center.

PROFESSIONAL SOCCER

THE MILWAUKEE WAVE of the Major Indoor Soccer League plays all home matches at the U.S. Cellular Arena, 400 W. Kilbourn Ave. Individual game tickets are available by calling the Wave at 414-224-9285.

The Wave plays three home games this month:
Feb. 4 vs. St. Louis Steamers, 7:05 p.m.
Feb. 13 vs. Baltimore Blast, 1:05 p.m.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL

Men’s and women’s basketball teams from Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee have become increasingly competitive with the best teams in the nation. In February of the teams prepare for conference tournaments and, if Marquette and UWM men’s teams continue to perform well, berths in the NCAA or NIT post-season tournaments.

Marquette men call the Bradley Center home, while UWM men play home games in the adjacent U.S. Cellular Arena. Marquette women play in the new Al McGuire Center on campus, while the UWM women play in the Klotsche Center on the UWM Campus.

Feb. 2 vs. Alabama-Birmingham, 7 p.m.
Feb. 5 vs. Southern Mississippi, noon.
Feb. 17 vs. Louisville, 6 p.m.
Feb. 20 vs. DePaul, 12:30 p.m.

UWM men’s home games:
Feb. 5 vs. Illinois-Chicago, 1 p.m.
Feb. 12 vs. Youngstown State, 7 p.m.
Feb. 16 vs. Butler, 7 p.m.

Marquette women’s home games:
Feb. 11 vs. Texas Christian, 7 p.m.
Feb. 13 vs. Houston, 2 p.m.
