Bucks battle to make NBA playoffs
THE MILWAUKEE BUCKS, a more aggressive and high-scoring team this season, face some tough games in February as they attempt to return to the National Basketball Association playoffs.
New coach Terry Stotts, who formerly served as an assistant coach in Milwaukee, directs the team that has added top draft pick Andrew Bogut, NBA veterans Bobby Simmons and Jamaal Magloire to a lineup that includes high-scoring Michael Redd, playmaker T.J. Ford, and veterans Joe Smith and Toni Kuckoc.

PROFESSIONAL SOCCER
THE MILWAUKEE WAVE, defending champion in the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL), are again at the top of the standings this season and this month host the MISL All-Star game.
Wave coach Keith Tozer leads the MISL All-Stars, including five members of the Wave,Feb. 11 against a team from Futbol Rapido, A.C., the Mexican equivalent of the MISL. The 7:05 p.m. game will be the first time in league history that the MISL All-Stars have faced an international team.
All home games for the Wave, including the All-Star game, are played at the U.S. Cellular Arena, 400 W. Kilbourn Ave. The Wave plays only one home game this month, Feb. 19 versus the Chicago Storm at 1:05 p.m.
Tickets for the regular season and the All-Star game can be purchased at the Wisconsin Center District Box Office between the U.S. Cellular Arena and the Milwaukee Theatre. COLLEGE BASKETBALL
MARQUETTE University and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) teams are nearing the end of their regular seasons, preparing for conference tournaments and trying to position themselves for a chance to compete in postseason national tournaments.
Marquette, entering the Big East Conference this year, plays its men’s games in the Bradley Center, 1001 N. 4th St., while the women’s squad plays in the Al McGuire Center on the downtown campus.
UWM’s men’s team, which advanced to the “Sweet 16” round of the NCAA championship last season, plays its home games at the U.S. Cellular Arena, 500 W. Kilbourn Ave., while the women’s team competes in the Klotsche Center on the UWM campus.
