Prior to the block party, on the Ides of March (the 15th), a Death to Caesar toga party begins at 9 p.m., music provided by local rising stars, New Sense. According to Nomad owner Mike Eitel, partygoers will be treated to a Web simulcast of an identical toga party held at the new Minneapolis Nomad, marking its grand opening. Live recording sessions featuring the best of local music will occur on selected weeknights during the entire month, beginning on the March 2 and ending on March 30. The result will be a CD, "Live at the Nomad, Vol. 3", with proceeds donated to charity. Bands scheduled to play for the month-long commemoration include De La Buena, Uptown Savages, Mighty Lumberhorn, 5 Card Studs, On a Sun, Freshwater Collins, Codebreaker, The Probers, Mississippi Cactus, Kiss Me I’m Sick and the 357 String Band.
