Brewers open season against Houston

THE MILWAUKEE Brewers open the baseball season April 9 against the Houston Astros and newly acquired pitching great Roger Clemens.

Coached by Ned Yost, the Brewers will field a relatively young team, in contrast to the veteran Houston squad. Home field for the Brewers is Miller Park, a retractable dome stadium.

Bucks now playing for playoff position

THE MILWAUKEE Bucks close out the regular season this month, competing aggressively for a post-season playoff berth. Only four regular-season games remain for the surprising Bucks under first-year coach Terry Porter.

Wave prepares for playoffs

THE MILWAUKEE WAVE, one of he most successful franchises in the Major Indoor Soccer League, wraps up its regular season early in April and prepares for the playoffs beginning here later in the month.

The final home match for the Wave is at 7:05 p.m. April 2 against the Philadelphia Kixx. Then, as a result of its outstanding 20th season record, the Wave will not play again until it hosts the semi-final round of the championship playoff April 16.

All Wave games are played at the U.S.Cellular Arena, 400 W. Kilbourn Ave. Tickets for the final regular-season game and for playoff games can be obtained by at the Wave Office at the Milwaukee Theatre, 500 W. Admirals win home ice

THE MILWAUKEE ADMIRALS of the American Hockey League have clinched a bye in the league playoffs scheduled to begin later this month. The Admirals, who play home matches in the Bradley Center, have three regular-season contests before the playoffs begin.

Tickets may be purchased at the Bradley Center Box Office from 9 a.m,-5 p.m. daily. Tickets also may be purchased through Ticketmaster at 276-4545. For playoff information, visit www.milwaukeeadmirals.com.
