Aladdin: Middle Eastern dining experience DURING MAY, those looking for great Middle Eastern cuisine have a last chance to dine in the relaxing, authentic setting of Aladdin Restaurant's current location, 800 N. Plankinton Ave. Over Memorial Day weekend, the restaurant moves to a short distance to 202 W. Wisconsin Ave., across the street from the Shops of Grand Avenue. Although the menu of authentic and healthful dishes stays the same, the service changes from full service to counter service. This final month at the Plankinton location should be a busy one for owner Azmi Alaeddin, with many long-time patrons stopping by for another relaxing Middle Eastern dining experience. In addition, visitors to the Milwaukee Public Museum’s "Quest for Immortality: Treasures of Ancient Egypt" exhibit will find no better lunch or dinner to get them in the mood for the spectacular exhibit. The décor of the Wisconsin Avenue restaurant will be similar to the existing location, with some of the same brass artifacts and intricate wall hangings that grace the Plankinton location. He also will continue the catering service for homes, businesses and special events that has made Aladdin Restaurant a favorite at parties and local festivals. Through May, the Plankinton restaurant will be open for lunch from 11:30 a.m.-2:15 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and for dinner from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 5-10 p.m. Friday, 4-10 p.m. Saturday, and 4-8 p.m. Sunday. Aladdin is closed Monday. Current
