Brewers at home for 14 games

THE MILWAUKEE Brewers, who got off to a good start in April, play host to five National League opponents in May.

Coached by Ned Yost, the Brewers field a relatively young team with few well-known players. Home field for the Brewers is Miller Park, a retractable dome stadium that insures no rainouts.

The Milwaukee Wave United opens its regular season this month at Uihlein Soccer Park, 7101 W. Good Hope Rd. on Milwaukee's northwest side. The affiliate with the highly successful Milwaukee Wave indoor franchise last year posted the best regular season record in the A-League.

MOTOR SPORTS

Southeastern Wisconsin boasts two centers for motor sports, the famed Milwaukee Mile at Wisconsin State Fair Park and Road America, one of the country's leading road racing tracks in Elkhart Lake north of Milwaukee.

The season opens this month at Road America with the Sports Car Vintage Racing Association weekend May 14-16. Included in the weekend is the May 15 Road America Tailgate Party with Big Wheel racing for children. Also, the Road America Karting Club will compete on the Briggs & Stratton Motorplex. The second event of the season will feature bikes in the American Motorcycle Association's Suzuki Superbike Doubleheader June 3-5. The first event at the recently renovated Milwaukee Mile brings Champ cars to the oval for racing June 3-5.
