Summerfest lights up lakefront

Milwaukee's Summerfest, June 30-July 10,  again lives up to its reputation as “The World’s Largest Music Festival.” In its 39th year, national headliners again will attract capacity crowds at the 23,000-seat Marcus Amphitheater and eleven side stages.

“The Big Bang,” the fest’s annual fireworks display, takes place Thursday, June 30 at approximately 10:30 p.m. at the lakefront, weather permitting.

Situated on 75 acres along the shores of Lake Michigan in downtown Milwaukee, Summerfest combines world-class live music, unique attractions, and over 50 restaurants to create the premier event of the summer.

Gate admission to the festival is $12 adults (over 10), $3 children 3-10 when accompanied by adult, children 2 and under FREE, seniors 60 and over $3. Pre-sale tickets are $11 single day and $30 three day pass, good any three days.

Separate tickets are required for acts at the Marcus Amphitheater –John Mellencamp, June 30; Tom Petty, July 1; Kenny Chesney, July 2; Santana, July 3; Stevie Nicks, July 4; Allman Brothers Band, July 5; The BoDeans with the Wallflowers, July 8; Tim McGraw, July 9; and James Taylor, July 10.  Available tickets are sold at the Marcus Amphitheater Box Office and through Ticketmaster. Summerfest admission is included. For most Marcus Amphitheater shows, a limited number of bar-coded wristbands for free lawn seats are available the day of the concert.
