Lakefront Festival of Arts June 17-19 at Milwaukee Art Museum
This year Milwaukee’s Lakefront Festival of Arts celebrates its 43rd anniversary on the grounds of the Milwaukee Art Museum, 700 N. Art Museum Dr., June 17-19.
The festival includes 172 notable artists and their original work, live music, dancing, food and fund for adults and kids alike.
In addition to meeting the artists juried into this prestigious event, stroll through the sculpture garden, browse the college art show, bid at the silent auction, groove to live music and relax with a snack or drink.
For families, there is a children’s stage and Creation Station, where most of the nine activities are free and parents always are encouraged to participate. (Hours for these activities are 12-7 p.m. Fri., 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sat., and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sun.)
All artwork on display, as well as the festivals official poster and t-shirts, are available for purchase.
Hours are 12-8 p.m. Fri., 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Sat. and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sun. Admission is $10 at the gate ($8 on Fri.), $7 in advance. Kids under 16 are free. There are discounts for MAM members and members of the sponsoring Friends of Art. Admission includes general admission to the art museum. “The Art and Crafts Movement in Europe and America” requires a special exhibition ticket. For information, phone 224-3854.
