Brewers host Yankees, Twins in June

THE MILWAUKEE BREWERS, with a new look that extends from the field to the owner’s box, open interleague play this month with games against the New York Yankees and Minnesota Twins.

Home for the Brewers is Miller Park, just west of the downtown area. The park’s retractable dome allows games to be played even in the unpredictable days of early summer. Tickets may be purchased through www.milwaukeebrewers.com or at the box office.

MOTOR SPORTS

SOUTHEASTERN Wisconsin has two major tracks – the Milwaukee Mile at Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis and Road America in Elkhart Lake north of Milwaukee.

This month Champ Cars open the activity at the Milwaukee Mile with the Time Warner Cable Road Runner 225-mile race and the ARCA RE/MAX Series Formula Drift 150-lap race June 3-4. Grandstands and the infield open at 7 a.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m. Saturday .Qualifying for both races is scheduled for Friday, with the Champ Car 225 set to start at noon Saturday and the ARCA RE/MAX race scheduled for 2:30 p.m.

NASCAR will visit the Milwaukee Mile June 24 & 25 with the 200-lap Truck Series starting under the lights at 8 p.m. Friday and the 250-lap Busch Series NASCAR race set for 8 p.m. Saturday.

Road America hosts the American Motorcycle’s Suzuki Superbike Doubleheder June 2-5 and the Kohler/SCAA Chicago Region June Sprints presented by the Chicago Tribune June 23-26. At the June Sprints, more than 400 competitors will race for a chance at the Triple Crown of Road Racing -- win at Road America, win the division and win the Run-Offs. WATER SKIING

WORLD WATERSKI PROS has teamed with Malibu Boats to present the 2005 Malibu Open Water Ski Championship June 24-26 on Lake Lynn Louise in Dousman, Wis., just 45 minutes west of downtown Milwaukee.

The nationally televised international waterskiing championship will showcase more than 50 of the world’s leading professional skiers in slalom, shortboard and juump events. Other events include a wakeboard exhibition, an amateur water ski competion and a water ski show featuring Wisconsin’s Rock Aqua Jays.

Competition will take place  from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. June 24, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. June 25 and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. June 26. Visit www.worldwaterskipros.com or www.malibuboats.com for additional information.
