Domed Miller Park great place for spring baseball

THE MILWAUKEE BREWERS attract fans from throughout the Midwest who come to games not only for the action on the field, but also for tailgate parties and the enjoyable experience offered by Miller Park.

Located just west of downtown Milwaukee, Miller Park is recognized as one of the best stadiums in major league baseball. The retractable roof guarantees all games will be played.

The Brewers, who have played much better on the road than at home this season face both the Chicago Cubs and the Minnesota Twins of the American League this month, series that are sure to fill the stadium with fans from Illinois and Minnesota.

Regardless of how the teams are playing, good seats will be hard to find for the Cubs and Twins series. Tickets are available online at www.brewers.com. Check www.theticketking.com when games are technically sold out.

Visitors driving to Miller Park may find the Canal Street entrance (west from 6th St. at the Harley-Davidson Museum) preferable to entrances off I-94.

Milwaukee Iron leads arena football league

THE MILWAUKEE IRON lost no time this season establishing itself as a leader in the country’s top indoor football league, the reorganized Arena Football League.

Winning five out of its first seven games, the Iron has displayed a potent offense and a defense that has kept it in every game. The team is led by coach Bob Landsee, an All American and All Big Ten guard at the University of Wisconsin who played four seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles in the National Football League.

Management of the team, which became a charter member of the reorganized AFL this year, is so confident of success that it guaranteed season-ticket holders their money back if the Iron does not reach the AFL playoffs.

All Iron home games are played at the Bradley Center. Season and individual-game ticket information and details about players and special events are available at www.mkeiron.com.

Remaining regular-season home games:
June 12 vs. Cleveland Gladiators, 7 p.m.
June 26 vs. Spokane Shock, 7 p.m.
July 17 vs. Orlando Predators, 7 p.m.
