Bikers & bike enthusiasts gather July 28-31 for 4th Milwaukee Rally

NO SUMMER PASSES in Milwaukee without a loud and festive event dedicated to the bike that made Milwaukee famous, Harley-Davidson. This year the Harley-Davidson Dealers of Metro Milwaukee again fill the gap between corporate anniversary celebrations with their Fourth Annual Milwaukee Rally July 28-31 at Wisconsin State Fair Park’s Milwaukee Mile.

National and local talent will appear this year on the rally’s three entertainment stages. Country newcomer Shelly Fairchild, who recently began riding a Harley, opens the event Thursday, July 28, with country/rock hits from her appropriately titled debut album, “Ride.”

Headlining afternoon and evening show Friday, July 29, will be Emerson Drive, Billboard’s top country artist for 2002. English classic rockers “The Fix” will perform two shows July 30 and Vixen, an all-female classic rock band, will be on stage Sunday, July 31.

Returning to the rally this year will be the Ms. Milwaukee Rally Bikini Contest, the Milwaukee Rally Open Invitational Bike shows with four different bike shows, tattoo contests, stunts, scenic tours and Harley-Davidson demo rides. Also on site this year will be the Harley-Davidson Traveling Museum.

On display for the first time at a Milwaukee Rally will be the Kendall Johnson Customs/Miller High Life Bike. The state-of-the art bike produced by nationally known Kendall Johnson Customs was unveiled this past April at the Dallas Easyriders Event,

Restaurants offering a wide variety of food, from barbeque to Cajun and Mediterranean specialties, will be on hand for riders and bike enthusiasts, along with more than 90 vendors offering apparel, accessories, equipment and Harley-Davidson merchandise.

Single-day tickets are $8 at the gate July 28, 29 and 31 and $12 for Saturday, July 30. VIP tickets, which include a four-day wristband, preferred parking and merchandise, can be purchased for $45 at participating Harley-Davidson dealerships or at www.Milwaukeerally.com.  A four-day rally pass is $20 in advance and $25 at the gate.

Rally hours are 4-11 p.m. July 28, 11 a.m.-midnight July 29 & 30 and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. July 31.

Participating in the event are Suburban Harley Davidson/Buell at 139 N. Main St. in Thiensville, Milwaukee Harley-Davidson Buell at 1130 W. Silver Spring Rd., House of Harley-Davidson/Buell at 6221 W. Layton Ave. in Franklin and Hal’s Harley-Davidson/Buell. At 1925 S. Moorland Rd. in New Berlin.
