Harley riders, fans return “home” for annual rally IT’S WELL KNOWN that no city does Harley-Davidson like the hometown of Milwaukee Iron. And that will be proven again July 27-30 at the 5th Annual Milwaukee Rally at the Milwaukee Mile in Wisconsin State Fair Park.
Organized by the Harley-Davidson Dealers of Metro Milwaukee, the rally has become not only a lure for midwestern bike enthusiasts, but also a definitive stop for those trekking to the annual event at Sturgis, South Dakota. This year’s rally welcomes a host of local entertainers and national talent on four stages. Headliners include Blue Oyster Cult on Friday, July 28; Harley enthusiast and chef Biker Billy cooking his fiery dishes, and custom bike builder Brad Ruel from “Metric Revolution,” a new national television series. Other guest appearances include Playboy centerfold Ava Fabian; “The Last Hippie,” direct from The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and author and photojournalist Tom Zimberoff (Art of the Chopper). Returning favorites include demo rides, the Harley-Davidson Traveling Museum, Ms. Milwaukee Rally and Mr. Milwaukee Rally contests, stunt teams, fashion shows and a wide other activities over the four days. The rally also will host a Midwest National Burn Out Championship and four different bike shows. The first four rallies also became known for food and merchandise. This year will be no different with cuisine from classic barbeque to Cajun and more than 80 vendors offering motorcycle apparel, accessories and equipment, along with Harley-Davidson merchandise. VIP tickets and four-day passes can be purchased in advance at participating Harley-Davidson dealerships or at www.milwaukeerally.com. The $45 VIP Event Pass includes a four-day pass, preferred VIP parking, the official Milwaukee Rally T-shirt, embroidered four-color patch and rocker and pin and rocker. The four-day rally pass is $20 in advance and $25 at the gate. Single-day tickets purchased at the gate are $8 for Thursday, Friday and Sunday, and $12 for Saturday. Rally hours are 4 p.m.-11 p.m. July 27, 11 a.m.-midnight July 28 & 29 and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. July 30. Current
