Area Restaurants Take Dining Outside

TRADITIONALLY, June is the start of the outside dining season in Milwaukee. Diners still may need to run for cover, but there are plenty of places dining can at least begin in the fresh air.

Here are some of the city’s favorite outdoor dining opportunities:

Apollo Café, 1310 E. Brady St. Located in Brady Street’s Passeggio (passageway) complex, providing outdoor dining that is out of the “hustle-and-bustle.”

Bacchus, 925 E. Wells St. This elegant patio overlooks Lake Michigan.

Barossa, 235 S. Second St. Milwaukee's first restaurant to specialize in organically grown food, purchased from farmers throughout the Midwest.

Bartolotta’s Lake Park Bistro, 3133 E. Newberry Blvd. Located in beautiful Lake Park.

Bang Thai Cuisine, 6107 W. Mequon Rd., Mequon

Brew City Barbecue, 1114 N. Water St. The spacious patio here often features live music and adjoins a newly remodeled, enclosed annex.

Carini’s, 3468 N. Oakland Ave. The front windows open
completely and create a great open air dining experience.

Chip & Py’s, 1340 W. Towne Square Rd., Mequon. This screened-in patio protects from sudden weather changes and unfriendly insects.

County Clare, 1234 N. Astor St. Everybody’s Irish here!

Hi Hat Lounge, Brady and Arlington Sts. Sample all the fun and funkiness of Historic Brady Street here.

Louise’s, 801 N. Jefferson St. and 109th and Bluemound Rd., Brookfield. Menu items here include California-style specialty pizzas, especially tasty when savored outdoors.

Metro Bar & Café, 411 E. Mason St. Whether in its elegant dining room or sidewalk cafe, Metro offers breakfast, lunch, dinner or appetizers every day of the week.

Milwaukee Ale House, 233 N. Water St. The two-story deck here overlooks the Milwaukee River, with boaters frequently stopping at the Ale House dock.

Nanakusa, 408 E. Chicago St. Great people watching and saki-sampling in the heart of the Historic Third Ward.

Ristorante Bartolotta, 7616 W. State St. What could be more Italian than dining outside?

Rudy’s, 1122 N. Edison St. On this spacious patio, the only question that matters is whether to order the Margaritas by the pitcher or the glass.

Third Street Pier, 1110 N. Old World 3rd St. Dine overlooking the Milwaukee River and the Riverwalk.

Trocadero, 1758 N. Water St. Linger over breakfast or late night drinks at this European-style café.

Water Street Brewery, 1101 N. Water St. and Hwy 83 and I-94. Sample carefully crafted beer at Milwaukee’s brew pub since 1987.

Weissgerber’s Seven Seas, on Lake Nagawicka . The patio here features great lakeside views.
