Summer Sizzle heats up city Aug. 5 & 6
The 7th annual Summer Sizzle brings all styles of jazz to the Historic Third Ward Aug. 5-6.
Saxophonist Eric Darius and Grammy Award winning saxophonist Ernie Watts headline the free festival, which features two stages of continuous jazz.
Summer Sizzle runs from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. in the 100 and 200 blocks of N. Broadway and adjacent streets– E. Buffalo, E. Chicago and E. Menomonee. Darius will perform at 9 p.m., Friday and Watts will play at 9 p.m., Saturday,
Restaurants and food vendors will serve ethnic and American food items, ranging from Italian sausage and burgers to mini-donuts. Retailers will set up wares outdoors, so visitors can browse. For more information, call 273-1173 or visit www.historicthirdward.org.
