feature article - august 2007 Milwaukee Rally moves to Water Street THE ANNUAL MILWAUKEE RALLY sponsored by Harley-Davidson Dealers of Metro Milwaukee returns to the street this month and that “street” naturally is North Water Street in Downtown Milwaukee. The rally, which offers entertainment and camaraderie for Harley-Davidson owners and the general public, previously was held at Wisconsin State Fair Park. This year the three-day event will begin Thursday, Aug. 30 with entertainment at four participating dealerships and then move to Water Street August 31 and Sept. 1.
Participating dealers are Suburban Motors Harley-Davidson/Buell in Thiensville, Hal’s Harley-Davidson/Buell in New Berlin and Milwaukee Harley-Davidson/Buell and the House of Harley-Davidson/Buell, both in Milwaukee. Each will offer entertainment and events during the three-day rally. Entertainers set for Water Street include The Georgia Satellites, southern rockers known for hits like “Keep Your Hands to Yourself” and “Battleship Chains.” The group is set to appear on the Water Street stage Sept. 1. In addition to free entertainment at the dealerships and on Water Street, rally attendees will be treated to four vendor villages, a Miss and Mr. Milwaukee Rally contest, stunt riding and other activities. New 2008 Harleys also will be on display, direct from the factory. Hours of the rally at the dealerships are 4-7 p.m. Aug. 30, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Aug. 31 and 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Sept. 1. The Water Street party is scheduled for 6 p.m.-midnight Aug. 31 and 10 a.m.-midnight Sept. 1. For more information, visit www.milwaukeerally.com. |
