THEATER

WELL, Aug. 7-24; Broadway Theatre Center, 158 N. Broadway. Milwaukee Chamber Theatre presents this hilarious play by Lisa Kron. Lisa, a hip and highly respected performance artist, normally appears solo. But for her latest project, she’s hired a diverse ensemble of actors for a “multi-character theatrical exploration.” Throwing the whole event into chaos is her all-too-present and perpetually ailing mother. 291-7800.

DANCE

HEALING THE INNER CRY, Aug. 8; Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. Story of freedom told through dance, song and drama. Janie Boston and In The Dance Café journey through the lives of Biblical characters and resurrects the true Healer of every man’s inner cry. MILWAUKEE MUSCLE,continuing; Discovery World. Exhibit sponsored by Briggs & Stratton, celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, gives visitors a chance to design a vehicle of the future called Vehicle 2020.

ENERGY & INGENUITY: HARNESSING THE POWER OF YOU, continuing; Discovery World. Developed with the support of Wisconsin Energy Foundation, this exhibit challenges visitors to consider new energy sources for the future and features an Energy Opportunity Lab focusing on green practices, sustainable building and design and wise energy use. Also includes a “visitor controlled” nuclear reactor model and working demonstrations of alternative power such as wind turbines and photovoltaic panels.
