SEPTEMBER, 2004 The Milwaukee Brewers wind up their home season this month. Coached by Ned Yost, the scrappy Milwaukee Brewers play in Miller Park, a state-of-the-art domed stadium just a few minutes west of downtown Milwaukee. GYMNASTICS ONLY WEEKS after the Olympics in Athens, some of the world’s best gymnasts visit the Bradley Center, 1001 N. Fourth St., Sept. 17 for the Rock ‘n Roll Gymnastics Championships. The touring group includes Paul and Morgan Hamm, Waukesha (Wis.) brothers who led the U.S. Olympic team to a silver medal. Paul Hamm won the gold medal in the individual all-around competition. The post-Olympic tour features events judged by a panel of celebrities. Moves, costumes and music that are not permitted in Olympic competition are allowed in the Rock ‘n Roll Championships. MOTOR SPORTS SOUTHEASTERN WISCONSIN boasts two centers for motor sports, the famed Milwaukee Mile at Wisconsin State Fair Park and Road America, one of the country’s leading road racing tracks at Elkhart Lake north of Milwaukee.
