Fine Furnishings Show stages KL COMMUNICATIONS, producer of the highly successful Fine Furnishings Shows in Providence, R.I., is taking its show on the road with the first Fine Furnishings Milwaukee Show Sept. 23 & 24 in the Midwest Airlines Center, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave.
“It was our original intention 10 years ago to have an additional show in another market some day,” commented Karla Little, president of KL Communications and founder of the Providence show. “after more than two years of research identifying cities and the infrastructure and support systems available, it became clear that Milwaukee was the best location choice.” The show’s advisory board includes Tom Loeser, furnituremaker and head of the wood/furniture program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Also advising the show is Chris Poehlmann, president of Chris Poehlmann Studio in Fox Point. Poehlmann commented that bringing the show to the Midwest “creates an opportunity for a greater segment of the general public to experience and appreciate the craft of studio furniture in its many forms.” Hours of the new Milwaukee show are 11 a.mn.-7 p.m. Sept. 23 and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 24. Admission is $12 for adults, with children under 12 free with adults. For additional information, visit www.finefurnishingsshow.com or call 401-841-9201. Current
