Brewers home games key to playoff hopes
Sixteen home games during September are the keys to post-season hopes, including three games to end the regular season against the division-rival Chicago. Attendance at Miller Park, just five miles west of downtown Milwaukee, should surpass 3 million. Thanks to a retractable roof, there are no rainouts at Miller Park, recognized as one of the outstanding baseball venues in the country. For tickets and team updates, visit www.brewers.com. September home games:
The Milwaukee Tennis Classic, the longest-running intercollegiate tennis tournament for men and women, brings players from six major colleges to Western Racquet Club in Elm Grove Sept. 19-21. Competing in men's singles and doubles will be players from host Marquette University, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Northwestern University and Ball State University. Competing in women's singles and doubles are team members from Marquette, Wisconsin, the University of Alabama and Texas A&M University. Matches are scheduled for 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. each day. Western Racquet Club is located at 1800 Highland Drive in Elm Grove, just south of W. North Avenue. In case of bad weather, matches will be played indoors at Western Racquet Club and at Western's Moorland Racquet Center, 2900 S. 163rd St. in New Berlin. |
