DOWNTOWN Milwaukee’s final Gallery Night and Day of the year Oct. 15 & 16 is traditionally the best attended, filling the city’s growing number of art galleries with potential buyers.

This year for the first time, KEY Milwaukee Magazine will join forces with PICTURE PERFECT GALLERY, 213 N. Broadway in the Historic Third Ward, for a special Gallery Night exhibit and sale entitled Milwaukee in Focus. Works of photographers David Bernacchi and Dan Zaitz will be available along with new works by popular Milwaukee artist Steve Slaske

Also in the Historic Third Ward, Elaine Erickson Gallery at 231 E. Buffalo St. will use Gallery Night to unveil Tom Hoffman: A Painter's Vision, an exhibit that will continue through Nov. 20.

GRAVA GALLERY, 1224 E. Brady St., will feature recent prismacolor paintings by photorealistic artist Sally Gauger Jensen, as well as Ron Zabler’s vibrant new photographic images.

LANDMARKS GALLERY, 231 N. 76th St., opens two major exhibits this month. A movie poster exhibit featuring antique and contemporary memorabilia opens Oct. 16. Among the 160 poster and lobby cards will be a rare French “La Dolce Vita” poster designed by legendary artist Rene Grunau. Opening Oct. 23 and 24 at Landmarks will be Terra-Ramas, an exhibit featuring landscapes and wildlife paintings and prints of three Midwestern artists: Terry Doughty, Duane Geisness and Ken Olesiak. Both exhibits will run through Nov. 16.
