Casino’s expansion project to expand
entertainment, dining, parking

ALREADY a major destination for travelers and Wisconsin residents, Milwaukee’s Potawatomi Bingo Casino is starting a $240-million expansion project that will significantly increase entertainment options and parking.

When the project is completed in 2008, the casino will have an additional 500,000 square feet of entertainment space, a new six-story parking garage and easier access to the parking structure, leaders of the casino announced at a groundbreaking ceremony Aug. 28.

New dining options will include two restaurants, a bar/lounge and a food court. Both the present four-Diamond Dream Dance restaurant and The Buffet will be increased in size and moved to the first floor of the casino. The popular Fire Pit Sports Bar & Grill also will be expanded.

On the gaming floor, the number of slot machines will double with the addition of 1,500 machines. Approximately 100 additional table games will double, and in some cases triple, the number currently on the floor.

Opened in 1991, Potawatomi has expanded once before and currently plays host to more than four million visitors a year. The casino currently offers high-stakes bingo, craps, roulette, blackjack, poker and video and reel slot machines. Its cabaret-style theater brings the best of the nation’s entertainers to Milwaukee.

The casino is located minutes from downtown in the Menomonee Valley that runs from Lake Michigan to Miller Park. It is in the heart of a planned entertainment district that will include the Harley-Davidson Museum, currently under construction east of the casino.

“The revitalization of the Menomonee Valley is important to the Forest County Potawatomi,” said Casino General Manager Mike Goodrich at the groundbreaking ceremony. “This $240-million project is a commitment to increase the Valley’s profile and to have a lasting economic impact in the way of jobs.”
