‘Music Under Glass’ returns to the Domes

THIS MONTH the Milwaukee County Parks Department kicks off its second annual after-hours “Music Under Glass” program, a five-month concert series presented by Potawatomi Bingo & Casino at the Mitchell Park Horticultural Domes.

The series runs from October 1 through November every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. In addition to live music, computer-generated light shows, featuring the new interior lighting of the Domes, take place during concert breaks and after performances. The concerts are scheduled to resume January through March 2010 in the restored Domes at 524 S. Layton Blvd.

The first “Music Under Glass” program Oct. 1 features popular Milwaukee musician Eddie Butts on Oct. 1. Admission is $6.50 for adults and $5 for youth, ages 6-17.

A total of 39 concerts are planned, featuring quality music with diverse styles and genre. Food and beverages also are available for purchase. The three horticultural domes will be open during the concerts, featuring rare and exotic plant life from every continent. Only two domes will be open during the Nov. 9-20 transition for the show dome.

For additional information on the concerts, visit www.countyparks.com or call the Parks Office at 414-257-7275.
