Bucks open season with new logo & lineup

THE MILWAUKEE BUCKS, who returned to the National Basketball Association playoffs last year, open the home season this month. New players and even a new logo will greet fans at the Bradley Center, 1001 N. Fourth St.

Lineup changes made  through trades brought power-forward Charlie Villanueva from Toronto in exchange for guard T.J. Ford and forward Reuben Patterson from the Denver Nuggets in exchange for forward Joe Smith. In addition, the Bucks added guard Steve Blake, forward Brian Skinner and backup center Ha Seung-Jin from the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for center Jamaal Magloire.

Led by Coach Terry Stotts, the Bucks feature all-star Michael Redd and center Andrew Bogut. Bogut, however, sustained an injury during the exhibition season and is unlikely to play in the first games of the season.

Milwaukee Admirals Hockey

THE MILWAUKEE  Admirals, runner-up in the American Hockey League last year, call the Bradley Center home ice.

Milwaukee Wave Soccer

THE MILWAUKEE  Wave, always a contender for the championship of the Major Indoor Soccer League, opens the 2006-2007 season this month.

The Wave plays at the U.S. Cellular Arena, 400. Kilbourn Ave. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Milwaukee Theatre Box Office, 500 W. Kilbourn Ave. or at www.milwaukeewave.com.

Nov. 4 vs. Chicago Storm (home opener), 6 p.m.
Nov. 18 vs. California Cougars, 6 p.m.

College Basketball

Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) have top-flight men’s and women’s basketball squads.

Marquette men play at the Bradley Center, while the UWM men play at the U.S. Cellular Arena. Marquette women make their home in the Al McGuire Center on campus and the UWM women compete on their campus in the Klotsche Center.
