feature article - december 2007 December entertainment options abound DECEMBER brings a treasure trove of entertainment options to Milwaukee. Two of KeyMilwaukee.com’s favorite picks are Milwaukee Chamber Theatre’s Trying, by Joanna McClelland Glass, and the Milwaukee Repertory Theater’s timeless classic, A Christmas Carol. Trying runs through Dec. 16, and tells the story of a cantankerous judge and the girl who comes in (as yet another new secretary) to help the old man complete his remarkable memoirs. This heartwarming tale chronicles two wary individuals who overcome generational and class differences to become friends. The play is presented in the Studio Theatre of the Broadway Theatre Center complex,158 N. Broadway. 276-8842 for tickets. Audiences attending the Milwaukee Rep’s Christmas Carol in the gilded elegance of the Pabst Theater, 144 E. Wells St., are swept into a production filled with music, dancing and celebration. Through Dec. 23, this extravagant presentation brightens the holiday season with its message of hope and redemption. Tickets are available at 224-9490, or can be purchased online at www.milwaukeerep.com. |
