Historic Pabst Mansion celebrates Victorian style

THE CAPTAIN Frederick Pabst Mansion, 2000 W. Wisconsin Ave., presents A Grand Avenue Christmas through Jan. 13. More than a dozen of the mansion’s rooms have been elegantly transformed in keeping with the mansion’s Victorian heritage.

This year’s holiday activities include live readings of traditional holiday children’s stories on each of the first four Saturdays in December. At 11 a.m. on Dec. 1, 8, 15 and 22, children will gather in Mrs. Pabst’s Sitting Room for story time.

Visitors may opt for the $10 Holiday Season Pass to The Captain Frederick Pabst Mansion, the Charles Allis Art Museum, and the Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum. All of these historic museums are decorated for the season according to their unique architectural styles and can be visited for this one low price. (Tickets available at all three locations.)

The Pabst Mansion’s holiday hours are Dec. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon-4 p.m. Sunday.  All holiday tours are self guided. Holiday admission is Adults/$9, Seniors, College Students/$8 and Children 6-17/$5, children under 6 admitted free.
